Wait for the right time to empty your shell pool

 

Emptying your entire pool is not a trivial act for the structure of your pool. Done in the wrong season, the latter can come out of its foundation, under the pressure of waterlogged ground. This is the reason why it is better to avoid autumn and winter and wait patiently for the good weather to undertake the emptying of your shell pool.

However, be sure to check the weather beforehand so as not to choose overly sunny days. Indeed, the sun can quickly alterthe coatingof your shell pool irreversibly.

Once emptied, do not waitmore than 24 hoursto refill your pool; this could causedamageto the structure of your pool.

 

Warn your neighbors a few days before emptying your shell pool

 

This may seem obvious, but draining thousands of m3 of water is not without consequences for your soil and that of your neighbors (risk of flooding, soil infiltration). For this reason, it is imperative, in the first instance, that you informyour municipality: the latter will give you thesteps to taketo evacuate the water safely. Secondly, notifyyour neighborsof the date of your emptying so that they can check that no soil infiltration occurs on their property.

Once your municipality and the neighborhood have been notified, remember to stop all treatment of your pool water at least 10 days before emptying to avoid soil pollution.

 

Some steps to follow on the day of the oil change

 

Are your floors dry? Are your neighbors and your municipality notified of your emptying?

Great! You can now startemptying your poolin several stages. This way, you will give your soil time to absorb the water and drain it. This will help you avoid any risk of flooding and soil infiltration.

 Once your pool is emptied, you must absolutely prevent the structure from coming off its base, at the risk of it cracking or breaking. To do this, remember to leave at least 20 centimetres of water inside your shell pool. Use beams – installed widthwise – to support the shell of your pool for the entire duration of the emptying. In order to protect the coating at the contact points, place cardboard sheets or any other smooth surface between it and the beam.

Finally, do not delay inrefillingyour pool; the less time it spends without water, the better it will be!
